Education Offer
We have a vast education offer which provides a combination of training and therapeutic interventions. Please contact ATVevents@oxfordshire.gov.uk. Information on future events and training will also be emailed out via the mailing list. If you would like to join the mailing list, please email ATV.PermanenceSupport@oxfordshire.gov.uk
Social Events
The Permanence Support Team also runs social events. You don’t have to be accessing other support from us to come to these events, all families with an adopted child are welcome to attend and are publicised through the mailing list. If you would like to join the mailing list, please email ATV.PermanenceSupport@oxfordshire.gov.uk with the subject line Join Mailing List and ask to be added.
Support Groups
These happen monthly there are online and face to face options.
Children’s Groups
These happen monthly across the region in Swindon, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. These are advertised on the mailing list. Please discuss a referral with Helpdesk or your Social Worker if you have one.
Special Guardian Support Groups
Special Guardianship is not as widely known about as other care arrangements for children, which can sometimes leave special guardians wanting to talk to someone who understands and has experienced this for themselves. Some of the ATV local authorities run support groups for Special Guardians, and there are others running independently across the ATV area. If you are interested in finding out more, contact the Helpdesk and we can point you in the right direction.

Adults Affected by Adoption
Adults Affected by Adoption refers to adopted adults, birth relatives of adopted adults, and descendants of adopted adults. Each group has varying rights to services, some of which Adopt Thames Valley provide directly and some are provided by other agencies.
