Resource lists
Adopt Thames Valley have a variety of resource lists, put together by ATV staff with the aim of providing prospective adopters and adoptive families a starting point when looking for information and support at various stages of the adoption process and on a range of topics.
Currently we have finalised lists available for Info Meetings and Adopters in Assessment, plus lists on the following topics:
- Adopting siblings
- Blended families
- Solo adopters
- Transracial adoption
We also have a Children’s book list, with a section on books for those over 8 years old.
Obviously, these lists can never be exhaustive. We would also advise caution in that we are not able to fully check every resource and therefore if you find any content you are unsure of, please check it with a member of ATV staff. Additionally, some resources may be written by authors from another country and as such may reflect processes that are not like those in England.
As well as updating the existing lists regularly, we will continue to add more. Future aspects of adoption that we plan to cover include: adopting children with additional needs. Please bookmark this page to ensure you don't miss any.
